About This Template

College is expensive, but most students never actually add up their total costs until it's too late. Our College Student Budget template gives you a clear, semester-by-semester view of your income sources and every expense category specific to student life.

The Funding/Income section tracks Employment, Parents, Student Loans, Scholarships, Grants, Financial Aid, and Savings transfers for each semester. Below that, the Expenses section covers 20+ student-specific categories: Tuition, Fees, Housing/Rent, Food Plan, Credit Cards, Loan Payments, Computer & Equipment, Books, School Supplies, Groceries, House Supplies, Utilities, Cell Phone, Internet, Transportation, Car Payment, Insurance, Fuel, Health Insurance, Medicine, Clothing, and Laundry.

Each semester has columns for One-Time costs, Monthly costs, and a Total. The Year Total column shows your annual picture. At the bottom, NET (Income - Expenses) and Projected End Balance calculations help you see if you're on track or heading toward financial trouble.
